Miso ramen lovers, this article is for you !

Ramen is, of course, delicious all year round. However, when it gets cold there is nothing better than eating a warm bowl of ramen. So this time, we will introduce our writer, Mattsuan,’s favorite ramen shop! And since she only have eyes for miso ramen, the ramens presented in this article will mainly be miso ramens!

Asahikawa Daikichi Ramen

Our writer usually goes to "Asahikawa Daikichi Ramen » in the residential area of Hokumoncho

As her husband is a big ramen lover, she got to go to various ramen shops. But Daikichi ramen is the ramen shop that she can’t get tired of. It has this nostalgic, old-fashioned flavour that Mattsuan fancy so much.

Her favorite ramen is the “Gomoku Ramen”, a miso-based ramen.

It has a wide variety of ingredients such as char siu (roasted pork fillet), bean sprouts, green onions, eggs, spinach, kamaboko (steamed seasoned fish paste), boiled bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms to satiate your appetite.
Wood ear mushrooms are crunchy and delicious.

The miso in the soup has a slight spiciness and is well entwined with the noodles to make the food going on. All miso ramen contains vegetables, so it's worth eating even if it's not a Gomoku ramen.

The Gomoku Ramen is at 950 yen. It's a little expensive for ramen bowl, but this ramen contains various ingredients and flavours that will surely satisfy you.

Our reporter’s husbands and children are soy sauce ramen lovers. On the picture, you can see the Gomoku Ramen (soy sauce flavor).

Daikichi Ramen's soy sauce is slightly darker and colors the noodles as they become one with the soup. The soy sauce ramen’s taste is getting deeper over time.
This is our writer’s husband and children favourite.

There are counter seats, table seats, and low seats inside the store. You can go here alone or with your family. High chairs for infants and toddlers are available with plates and forks for them to use. This ramen shop very family friendly.

One of the characteristics of Daikichi Ramen is that you can choose between several types of ramen like the pumpkin ramen, the yogurt ramen, and the lemon ramen.

Our reporter hasn’t tried them out yet, but the lemon ramen was presented on TV before. It has a refreshing taste and is popular in summer.

Yoshino

Yoshino is well-known for its miso ramen.

Our writer also love the miso ramen here! She wanted to eat something warm on a very cold day and went to Yoshino.

Yoshino’s miso ramen is characterised by the mountain of bean sprouts on the top of the bowl. It's so heaped that you'll be full just with bean sprouts.

When going alone, our writer goes to the roadside station store.

The roadside station store is self-service, so when your ramen is ready, you have to go to the counter and take your bowl to your seat. The bean sprout mountain makes the ramen difficult to carry to the table and our reporter always spill some soup. But luckily, on the day of the picture, she managed to carry her bowl to the table without spilling anything.

The bean sprouts are crispy and delicious, going well with the miso soup! Of course, it also match perfectly the noodles! By the time you finish eating, the ramen is so satisfying that your stomach might feel a bit tight.

There seems to be miso ramen without vegetables, but our reporter likes this ramen better with bean sprouts. It's our writer recommended one if you love bean sprouts!
