The snow has now fully melted and Hokkaido is gradually getting warmer! It’s the perfect chance to go for a drive. This time, we will introduce you to some of our favourite places around Asahikawa to go when the weather gets warmer.
Last year, around the end of May, our writer went strawberry picking at the Nanyakanya Farm !
For 1000 yen, you can pick all the big strawberries you want for 40 minutes!
We couldn't stop our hands from picking the sweet and tasty strawberries and before we knew it, we had eaten about 3 packs...!!
You can also take the strawberries home as a souvenir for an extra charge!
This may also be a great chance to make homemade parfait or sweets with the strawberries you picked up!

There are no details yet about when the strawberry-picking event will be held this year, but last year you had to make a reservation to participate, so if it's going to be held again this year, don't forget to call and make a reservation!

If you get a little hungry after your stroll on the beach, Suzuki Kamaboko is the place to go for freshly fried kamaboko!
From Wikipedia:
Kamaboko is a type of cured surimi, a processed seafood product common in Japanese cuisine.
It is made by forming various pureed deboned white fish with either natural or man-made additives and flavorings into distinctive loaves, which are then steamed until fully cooked and firm.

The freshly fried kamaboko are served hot and available in various flavours such as scallop, octopus, shrimp and vegetable.
