Japanese sweets, bread and onigiri ! 3 takeouts !

Lunch, snacks and souvenirs, takeout is becoming more and more popular. Here are three stores: a long-established Japanese sweets shop, a newly opened kitchen truck of koppe-pan, and a rice ball shop.

Koppe-pan specialised store TAN ★ TAN

Koppe Pan: a hot dog bun sandwich.

The food truck parked here, is specialised in koppe-pan. The red minivan on which cute illustrations and logo are drawn in white is easily noticeable and our lucky reporter found it in front of the greengrocer, Amuse market in Kaguraoka.
They are opening in various places in Asahikawa.

There are 11 types of "side dish koppe" and 5 types of "Italian koppe".
There are 7 types of « Amakoppe" (sweet koppe) that can be used as desserts, and 5 types of "Fruit koppe", fruits sandwiches.
You can also create your own original koppe-pan with the toppings you want.

Our writer bought an adzuki red bean koppe, a butter koppe, a smoked salmon and a cream cheese koppe.
You can even choose between coarse bean paste and smooth bean paste for your adzuki red bean paste koppe.

The salmon and cream cheese go perfectly together. The pepper harmonises the salmon with the cream cheese and gives some punch to the sandwich.
The colors are also beautiful.

The food truck called "AMO TRUCK" travels to various places in the city to sell their soft breads.
Please check the official Facebook page to see where they will be next time ♪

RICE BALL SHOP “CHAMA"

In Kyokushincho, there is a shopping mall called "Kyokushin Village Hakoniwa" where shops and facilities such as nursery schools, beauty salons, soup curry restaurants, beauty salons, nail salons, and osteopathic clinics are gathered.

Our writer when going to the beauty salon, noticed a prefabricated shop next to the parking lot.
She sneaked a look through the windows and could discern lined up rice balls.

From the signboard and the line up we had guessed that the shop was an onigiri shop.
Our writer went inside ♪

There are more than 15 kinds of volumey rice balls in the small shop and few fried chicken!

Our reporter bought three rice balls, Genghis Khan (grilled mutton meat) onigiri, seasoned eggs onigiri, cheese IN grilled onigiri, and two soy sauce-flavored fried chicken.

The onigiri were large and came with various flavours.

The seasoned egg onigiri contained a whole egg.
This is enough to make your stomach full.

There were two types of karaage, salt fried chicken and soy sauce fried chicken, sold in self-service.

A loyalty stamp card is available. With enough stamps, you can get some cute small items like key chains.

We recommend this shop to people who likes big onigiri with unusual flavours!

Karaage is a Japanese cooking technique in which various foods—most often chicken, but also other meat and fish—are deep fried in oil. The process involves lightly coating small pieces of the meat or fish with flour, or potato or corn starch, and frying in a light oil. The foods are marinated prior to coating.

Nichirin Confectionery Store

Nichirin Confectionery Store is a long-established wagashi (Japanese sweets) shop founded in 1959.
The candy store is situated at the end of the Shopping Park Street.

Mochi and red bean paste sweets are popular and are often sold out during the afternoon.
Nichirin's sweets have the taste of Asahikawa.
The shop have many regulars.

The sweets are beautifully lined up in a tray.
It's beautiful!

Strawberry daifuku, walnut daifuku, dorayaki and apricot jam sanded bouchées.
These old and traditional sweet are still lined up, like always, like they are waiting for you.

Our reporter bought daifuku, sakura mochi, strawberry daifuku, bouchées and cream puff.
Nichirin's Western confectioneries are also very delicious.

Some times ago, when our writer used to work at a cafe in the Seibu department store, shortcakes and mont blanc were made by Nichirin.
There were even some customers who came just to eat those cakes.
Sadly this cafe doesn’t exist anymore.

Mami’s children also ate some sweets. They said absolutely nothing as they were eating. This usually means that the food is delicious.
It is a shop that Mami likes a lot, and she wishes this shop to keep it on without changing.

Conclusion
