Bicchuu

"Bicchuu" in Toyooka 12 Jo.
The restaurant looks traditional and seems to have a great atmosphere.
The parking is always full during lunchtime, this is why our reporter decided to dodge this hour and went a bit later. Luckily, a place was open.

Mask cases were placed on each table!
On the back of the menu, the 7 measures taken to prevent the COVID-19 are written. Many shops are taking measures against the corona infection, but Bicchuu was the first restaurant to put a mask case.

Our reporter ordered a large serving of kake soba.
The way the trefoil (Mitsuba)’s stem is tied were beautiful.
When the Kake soba was served, we immediately noticed the refreshing odour of the yuzu.
Yuzu in Kake soba ?
Is what our writer first thought until he took the first sip of the soup. The soup and the yuzu went well together.
However, the aftertaste of the soba soup seemed to disappear quickly, our writer didn’t mind that though.
The noodles were smooth and easy to eat.
The inside of the kitchen is visible from the customer seats. The cooks are thoroughly washing the plates before serving the noodles.
During checkout, the owner bows deeply and politely.
It may be because there weren’t that many customers during that time, but our reporter wants to come to eat here again.

Sobaya Fukutoku
Source: Yellow
"Fukutoku" is located slightly off the center of Shijo-dori.
Our writer knew about the store when he passed by with his car. His friends didn’t know about this store neither so he was very excited to see what kind of restaurant this was.
Source: Yellow
All dishes were at a reasonable price.
Our writer ordered a Toji Soba: soba noodle in a hot soup containing scramble-like eggs.
The main difference between a Tsukimi soba, which is also topped with an egg, is that the Tsukimi soba is topped with a raw egg. When the yolk is break, the yolk will be mixed in soup. But the Toji soba’s egg is cooked. The egg can be eaten without altering the soup’s flavour. This is why our reporter prefers Toji soba.
The eggs of "Fukutoku" are hard to crumble, so you can eat them cleanly.
Of course, this was delicious! But the other good point about this restaurant is the quantity.
A normal soba restaurant may not fills up a hungry man’s stomach.
But with "Fukutoku", even big eaters will have their stomach full!
And it only was 620 yen, cheap yet delicious! This is outstanding!
Morisoba is at 500 yen, of course, you can eat the new year soba (Toshikoshi soba) here but this reasonable price is also perfect for lunch break during week days!
