Nabaryu
Open early in the morning, Nabaryu is cheap and delicious. This is our reporter’s favourite restaurant in Akitsuki 2 Jo 2-chome.
The cafeteria is open from 6:30 in the morning and can be used for breakfast and lunch.
Looking at the menu poster, udon and soba are at 350 yen but this price is probably for the kake udon and the kake soba.
The Curry Udon is +150 yen, 500 yen.
Still it can be bought with a 500 yen coin, this is cheap!
"Nabaryu" curry udon has a mild taste that combines the flavor of soup stock with homemade chicken curry.
The roasted fried tofu on the top of your dish in one of Nabaryu's speciality, the fried tofu will absorb the soup and get filled with the curry flavour. This is truly delicious.
You can also buy rice for 100 yen to mix the rest of your soup with when you finished your noodles.

Pastoral
Asahikawa City Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities in Miyamae. On the first floor you can find "Pastoral", a coffee shop serving light meals.
I don't think there are many opportunities to eat there unless you have someone with a disability close to you. This may be why this coffee shop isn’t well-known.
Noodles and rice meals are lined up on the menu, both are reasonably priced at around 500 yen.
Pastoral hires people with disabilities, this is why eating there will also help people with disabilities.
Here too, the curry udon only cost 500 yen.
You can choose the spiciness of your dish, people who can’t handle well spicy foods can be at ease. The thick soup is entwined with the udon noodles, and it's quite delicious.

Asahikawa Station Stand Company
The Asahikawa Station Stand Company sells railway bento in the JR Asahikawa Station.
Next to the ekiben, you can enjoy a noodle stand.
Ekiben (railway bento) are a specific type of bento boxed meals, sold on trains and train stations in Japan. Many train stations have become famous for their ekiben made from local food specialties.
Since it is a noodle stand, all menus are reasonably priced.
Curry udon is at 530 yen (tax included).
It's perfect for when you’re a bit hungry.
Made by putting boiled noodles in a bowl, pouring the soup stock (dashi) inside and finishing by putting the curry roux on the top.
You can mix the curry roux with the soup stock and enjoy the taste of the both altogether.
There is not much curry roux so it's light, easy to eat and you won’t have any difficulties with slurping the whole soup.
