Ryokan Sensyoen - Sobadokoro Sobasen
Sobadokoro Sobasen is located in a hot spring inn named « Sensyoen » in Takasagodai.
Next to the entrance is the soba restaurant « Sobasen ».
Delicious soba noodles, tempura, zangi (Hokkaido’s fried meat), and omelet rolls are popular here. The restaurant is always crowded at noon.
There are many kinds of soba.
The soba noodles are delicious, but the stock sauce is also fantastic!
It have that kind of taste that makes you want to eat until there is nothing left in the plate.
There are also set menus at lunch time! And the popular Zangi has his own set meal.
We chose tempura soba.
The freshly fried vegetables and shrimp are crispy and delicious!
The tempura came on a different plate and aren’t served on the top of the soba.
Actually, you can choose to put it on it or eat it separately.
Moreover, you don't have to stay at the inn to enjoy the onsen! There seems to be a set plan with lunch. There is also an open-air bath and a sauna.

Wadokoro Tsutamori
The popular restaurant Wadokoro Tsutamori, is located in Asahimachi.
In addition to sushi and tempura, the menu is wide and some foods that can be eaten as a snack while drinking, including zangi.
There are counter and semi-private room seats. The private room’s table is a sunken kotatsu (low table), so it is easy to use for seniors and families with small children.
The lunch is only at 500 yen. Both fried food and sushi are delicious here.
Although the portions may be a little small for men and big eaters, it’s just right for women.
As our reporter, Mami, isn’t very good at frying food she don’t get to eat them very often and sometimes wants to eat some.
Wadokoro Tsutamori’s speciality is the Tendon.
Our writer can’t eat a lot of fried food but since the portions are small, Mami was very satisfied with her meal.

Makotozushi
A shop situated along the Suehiro belt road.
We’ve drove in front of the shop several times, this is our first visit.
The small Shinto shrine on display has a great atmosphere.
There were some counter seats in the restaurant, and the rest were private rooms.
Near the entrance, just after entering, there were chairs and table seats on a tatami mat.
Seniors rather sit on chairs than tatamis. So there is a place for everyone!
The menu is full of delicious food!
Japanese food such as sushi, tempura and fried foods are lined up.
There was so many meals to choose between that our reporter was at a loss. But since she wanted to eat a little bit of everything Mami ordered a lunch box.
A beautiful and coloured bento.
The chopstick bag is also nice ...!
Sashimi, fried, salad, tempura, omelet, simmered dish, pickles, miso soup.
There is a plenty amount of everything!
Next time our writer will try the grilled fish set out.
Our reporter got to eat until her stomach was full... And drank some hot green tea!
