Open only during winter, the Taisetsu Arena in Kagura is an indoor skating rink.

To be able to purchase your ticket, you have to have your temperature checked at the reception, fill out the form, and get an admission card.
Next, you can buy your ticket at the ticket machine.

You can buy a ticket for 320 yen at the ticket vending machine in the shoe rental corner and rent your shoes at the reception.
Of course, you can also use your own skates.
● Figure skates 15 cm to 31 cm
● Ice hockey skates 20.5 cm to 29 cm
● Half speed skates 18-28 cm There were also 3 types.

The figure skates are available up to 31 cm, even people with big feet can enjoy skiing here. Wearing a hat and gloves is mandatory for safety. If you forgot your gloves at home, they also sell them for 200 yen. Helmets can be rented for free.

In addition to this, a chair-shaped sled called Rabbit Sled can be rented for 200 yen per hour. (The number of the chair is limited so please check the availability beforehand. There are only about 5 chairs)

~ About Rabbit Sled ~
● Can be rented by toddlers and elementary school students only if accompanied by a guardian (with skates). Even without riding the chair (only pushing it), children must be accompanied by a guardian to rent it.
● When rented to junior and senior high school students and adult beginners the chair cannot be used while sitting down. The chair can only be used as an assistance tool.
● Persons with disabilities can rent the chair only when accompanied by a caregiver (with skates).

Small children and people with disabilities can enjoy skating with friends and family when pushed on the chair. Adult beginners who can’t leave the wall and whose legs are shaking like a newborn fawn can also hold onto this chair and practice.

You can change your shoes here. There is some coin lockers. There were only 10 coin lockers here, but don't worry, more coin lockers are inside the arena, where the skating rink is located. There is a public shoe storage area, if you are worried about someone taking your shoes by mistake, you may be able to prevent that by bringing a plastic bag or putting something on your shoes to differentiate it from the rest.

You cannot take or record pictures with your smartphone, so better leave it in your locker.

The rink is regularly maintained and slippery. The entrance is free for elementary and junior high school students this is why there were more children who came with their friends than with their families. Nonetheless, in Asahikawa, everyone was good at skiing!

There is a cafeteria on the left immediately after entering the Taisetsu Arena for when you can hungry!
On the menu we can find ramen, pork bowl, Japanese curry with rice, soba (buckwheat noodles) and udon noodles.
If you get cold on the rink, you can warm up your body there with some hot dishes.
There are also soft serves for people who wants to cool down.

Family restaurants like Bikkuri Donkey and Victoria are in the neighbourhood, on the roadside station there is a food court where you can eat the some Asahikawa ramen for example.
Measures are taken against the corona infection in the rink.
