In the residential areas, families are starting to take care of their gardens.
And if you want to see a beautiful garden around Asahikawa, where is better than Ueno Farm ?
Ueno Farm is a garden in Asahikawa where you can see many beautiful plants adapted to the Hokkaido’s climate.
In 2021, the garden opened his door to the public the 23 April.
The weather is particularly warm this year, making the farm a great place to visit during Golden Week.

This photo was taken in mid-May 2020. You can see here a great variety of beautiful tulips.
Each tulip is unique, they have their own petal shape and even the way they are coloured are different from each other. They also change from year to year. This is something that you can’t get tired of.
The blooming season changes depending on the temperature, if you want to see Ueno Farm at its best, we recommend you to check the official Instagram.
On the official Instagram of Ueno Farm, there are pictures of the garden before its opening and how the flowers looked like last year.
Asahikawa residents should definitely get the annual passport!
Flowers are the main attraction in a garden.
And, although there is an indication of when the flowers will bloom, it more or less varies according to temperature and weather.
If you're planning to visit few times, we highly recommend to get the Annual Passport!
It's the perfect way to enjoy the plants of all seasons and since it’s a vast, outdoor space, you can quite easily avoid the “three Cs” (crowded places, closed places, close-contacts settings).
The normal ticket price is 1,000 yen for adults and the annual passport is only at 1,200 yen !
Even if you're only planning to visit the farm twice, it will be worth it !
Moreover, if you have an Annual Passport and bring a friend with you, the admission fee for your friend will be halved!
That's a pretty good deal, isn't it?
According to the official website, this year they will also be selling advance tickets online. You can buy tickets in advance on the website and show the QR code displayed on your smartphone at the reception desk to enter the park. Or course you are free to print the QR code too.
The price of the electronic ticket is 900 yen for adults and 450 yen for junior high school students, which is a little cheaper!

■Will you be able to find the gnomes hidden in the garden?
Source: Daruma-san
They are not that difficult to find, here and there some gnomes are helping out in the garden.
There is also golden gnomes!
Our writer, a regular of Ueno Farm, is coming here at least once every year.
And you know what ?
They’re moving. The gnomes are sometimes moving and changing locations.
If you’re visiting with children, you may challenge them to find all the gnomes.
It may entertain them and allow you to peacefully look at the flowers.
Annexed to the Hotel, Naya Cafe and has a lot of great food!
The Naya Café’s all menu items are available to take away!
You can also eat on the terrace overlooking the garden, while looking at the flowers in the garden without even having to enter Ueno Farm.
The petal-like soft-serve ice cream shown on the picture above is sure to be Instagramable !
The pictures of the ice creams taken with the tulips on the background look great !
The wild strawberry soft serve and the milk & wild strawberry mixed soft serve are 400 yen each.
