Salmon & Illuminations, Asahikawa and Ishikarigawa at their best !
This is an introduction of Asahikawa and the hardworking “the salmon and his friends watching over it” society of the Ishikari River. The association's purpose is to grow healthy salmon to repopulate the waters. We will also write about the "Asahikawa light illuminations”. New illuminations appeared this year!

デザインすることの原点は、人間が道具を使い始めたことから始まり、道具を使用することによって進化してきました。その原点ともいえるものを「プリミティブ（原始的）」と呼びます。今展では、織田コレクションからプリミティブ（原始的）なものを中心に、近代においてもその影響を受けているであろう世界のデザイン製品の展示を行います。

旭川生まれの彫刻家・藤川叢三（本名・基(もとい)）の生誕１００年を記念し， その活動を振り返る展覧会を開催します。 本展では，当館が収蔵する藤川叢三作品の中から， 最初期から留学後にかけての彫刻，着彩されたテラコッタや版画などによって， 藤川叢三の創作活動の歩みを紹介します。

The history of Asahikawa City began in 1890 with the establishment of three villages: Asahikawa, Kamui, and Nagayama, in Kamikawa-gun. During these 130 years, Asahikawa changed a lot. However, some things stayed the same as Asahikawa tried its best to preserve its culture and history.
